Wimbledon Tennis Championship 2022 Prize Money

The tournament organizers have announced the total prize money for the Wimbledon Tennis Championship 2022 which will be a record £40.3m.

The Championship men’s and women's singles winners will receive £2 million, which was reduced from £2.35 million in 2019.

Compared to 2019, the pot increased by 5.4%, when the prize pool totaled £38 million, an 11% increase in 2021.

In 2020, eligible players received £ 10 million in lieu of cash prizes for canceled events. Last year's Wimbledon saw fewer spectators due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Wheelchair tennis is up more than 40%, this reflects the increasing number of prizes and a doubling of the number of wheelchair athletes competing this year.

Wimbledon has said the 2022 pot "continues to emphasize supporting players in the first few rounds of the event" and has increased prize money in qualifying rounds.

The three qualifying round winners will receive £62,000 and the first round main draw winner will be awarded £50,000.
